Four Delicious Things You Can Do With Leftover Pizza

Did you order pizza delivery last night for dinner? If so, make sure you save the leftovers. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of eating cold leftover pizza for breakfast, there are several ways you can turn last night’s dinner into something delicious.

Make Pizza Waffles

If you can’t stomach cold pizza, heat it up. But, don’t heat your leftover pizza in the microwave—unless you like the taste of rubbery bread and cheese. Instead, use your waffle iron to make pizza-filled waffles.

  1. Place all of the pizza toppings in the top, left corner of the pizza slice.
  2. Fold the tip of the slice up to cover the toppings. The tip of your pizza slice should meet your top, left corner of your pizza.
  3. Cut off the excess crust—the right, top corner. (Don’t throw it out. You can use it to make breadcrumbs for another recipe.)
  4. Place the folded pizza into the waffle iron—there’s room for two pieces if you’d like more than one.
  5. Close the lid and turn the waffle iron on. Heat until you can open the lid of the waffle iron without the top of the pizza lifting up.

Leftover Pizza Casserole

If you have a lot of leftover pizza, enough to put two or three layers into a casserole dish, you can turn it into a leftover pizza casserole.

  1. Cut the crusts off of the pizza slices.
  2. Pour a thin layer of tomato sauce in the bottom of your casserole dish.
  3. Layer the pizza slices in the casserole dish—like you would layer lasagna noodles—with a layer of ricotta cheese between each layer.
  4. Top your casserole with sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Pizza Salad

Finally, a salad even the pickiest kids will eat. The great news is, it’s also simple to make. Just cut your leftover pizza slices into small chunks. Then, mix the chunks of pizza with lettuce, cheese, and whatever veggies you want. Top your salad with Ranch or Italian dressing and it’s ready to serve.

Freeze Leftover Pizza Slices

Stop buying frozen pizzas or other frozen snacks. Instead freeze the leftovers from the nights that you order pizza delivery. Freeze each slice individually. Then, when someone in your family gets hungry, they can heat up a slice.

Even if you aren’t a huge fan of leftover pizza, you don’t have to let it go to waste. Get a little creative and try a few new recipes. You might find yourself ordering pizza delivery from places like All Hours Pizza & Donair more often so that you have leftovers to enjoy.
